Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor to meet upon first adjournment on May 19, 2011, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative Marquez, at 12:25 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Coleman; Marquez; Gonzales, Larry; Hamilton; Jackson, Jim; and Smith, Wayne.

 

A quorum was present.


 

SB 917

 

The chair moved to reconsider all votes by which the measure was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

(Representative White now present.)

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative White moved that SB 917, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Coleman; Marquez; Gonzales, Larry; Hamilton; Jackson, Jim; Smith, Wayne; White (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Gooden; Paxton (2).

 

At 12:27 p.m., on the motion of the acting chair, Representative Marquez, and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
