Pursuant to a notice posted on May 2, 2011, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hunter, at 10:07 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hunter; Branch; Cook; Geren; Keffer; Kolkhorst; Lucio III; Solomons; and Zerwas.

 

A quorum was present.


 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 12 was placed on the Emergency State Calendar for Thursday, May 5, 2011.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Hunter moved to place the following measure: 

 

on the Emergency Calendar for Friday, May 6, 2011:  HB 12.

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Hunter; Branch; Cook; Geren; Keffer; Kolkhorst; Solomons; Zerwas (8).

 

Nays:                           Representative Lucio III (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Bonnen; Coleman; King, Tracy O.; Ritter; Rodriguez, Eddie; Truitt (6).

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the proposed calendar rule for HB 12 was adopted for floor consideration.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Pursuant to House Rule 3, Section 5(2), and House Rule 6, Section 16(f), The House Committee on Calendars proposes the following rule governing floor consideration of HB 12:

 

Each original amendment to C.S.H.B. 12 that will be offered during second reading consideration must be filed with the chief clerk not later than  10 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011.

 

Representative Hunter moved to adopt the proposed rule for floor consideration on HB 12. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Hunter; Branch; Cook; Geren; Keffer; Kolkhorst; Lucio III; Solomons; Zerwas (9).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
