Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 18, 2011, the House Committee on Border & Intergovernmental Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Gonzales, Veronica, at 3:48 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; Hardcastle; Phillips; and Simpson.

 

A quorum was present.


 

The chair directed that the April 11, 2011 minutes for the House Committee on Border & Intergovernmental Affairs be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

SB 978

 

The chair laid out SB 978.

 

Representative Alonzo offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Alonzo moved that SB 978, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; Phillips; Simpson (6).

 

Nays:                           Representative Hardcastle (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Weber; Riddle (2).

 

At 3:57 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
