Pursuant to a notice posted on March 16, 2011, the House Committee on Border & Intergovernmental Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Gonzales, Veronica, at 2:14 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Weber; Alonzo; Gonzales, Larry; Hardcastle; and Simpson.

 

A quorum was present.

HB 1254

 

The chair laid out HB 1254.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The chair recognized Representative Pickett to explain HB 1254.

 

The chair recognized Representative Pickett to close on HB 1254.

 

The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection.

HCR 68

 

The chair laid out HCR 68.

 

The chair recognized Representative Hunter to explain HCR 68.

The chair recognized Representative Hunter to close on HCR 68.

 

Representative Weber moved that HCR 68, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Weber; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; Hardcastle; Phillips; Riddle; Simpson (9).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

HB 397

 

Representative Phillips moved to reconsider the vote by which the HB 397 was reported favorably to the committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Alonzo moved that HB 397, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Weber; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; Hardcastle; Phillips; Riddle (8).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representative Simpson (1).

 

At 2:41 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
