Pursuant to a notice posted on March 18, 2011, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pitts, at 8:12 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Pitts; Turner; Aycock; Button; Chisum; Crownover; Darby; Giddings; Gooden; Hochberg; Johnson; King, Susan; Margo; Martinez, "Mando"; Miller, Doug; Morrison; Otto; Patrick, Diane; Riddle; Schwertner; Shelton; Torres; and Zerwas.

 

A quorum was present.

 

(Representative Villarreal now present.)

 

HB 1

 

The chair laid out HB 1.

 

The chair laid out a substitute to HB 1.

 

Representative Turner moved that the committee substitute to HB 1 be adopted.  The substitute was adopted without objection.

 

 (Representative McClendon now present.)

 

Representative Chisum moved that HB 1, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Pitts; Aycock; Button; Chisum; Crownover; Darby; Gooden; King, Susan; Margo; Miller, Doug; Morrison; Otto; Patrick, Diane; Riddle; Schwertner; Shelton; Torres; Zerwas (18).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Dukes; Eiland (2).

 

At 8:17 a.m., on the motion of Representative Pitts and without objection, the meeting was adjourned.
