The House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock

Pursuant to a notice posted on April 5, 2012, the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a joint public hearing with the Urban Affairs Committee and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hardcastle, at 1:25 p.m.


The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hardcastle; Anderson, Charles "Doc"; Howard, Charlie; Hughes; Isaac; Kleinschmidt; Landtroop; Lozano; and Miles.


A quorum was present.


The Chair addressed the members and attendees regarding the interim charge to evaluate the role of community gardens and urban farming efforts that increase access to health foods and examine the possible impact that state and local policies have on the success of programs of this type.


The Chair recognized Rep. Miles to speak regarding the interim charge.

At 4:15 p.m., on the motion of Representative Hardcastle and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
