SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 333
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Angela Leal, for whom a new elementary school in the |
|
|
San Benito Consolidated Independent School District was recently |
|
|
named; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The district named its new $7.6 million school in |
|
|
La Paloma in her honor as a tribute to her many years of |
|
|
outstanding service in the field of education and to her service |
|
|
as the district's first Hispanic principal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Angela Leal was a successful elementary school |
|
|
teacher who was beloved by her students; while serving as a |
|
|
fourth-grade teacher, she was appointed principal of Los Indios |
|
|
Elementary School, where she served for 32 years and became |
|
|
largely responsible for the strong student, faculty, and |
|
|
community relationships that characterized the school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Angela Leal's talents in the areas of instruction |
|
|
and administration were long admired by her fellow educators; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Due to her superior leadership, innumerable |
|
|
students have distinguished themselves in their educational |
|
|
endeavors and in the workplace; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby express sincere appreciation to Angela Leal |
|
|
for her notable achievements and her years of dedication to the |
|
|
field of education and extend congratulations to her on having a |
|
|
school in the San Benito Consolidated Independent School |
|
|
District named in her honor; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
