A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring certain state retirees from the elected class |
|
|
to contribute toward the cost of health insurance. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 1551, Insurance Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1551.325 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1551.325. CONTRIBUTIONS BY CERTAIN ANNUITANTS. |
|
|
Notwithstanding any other law, an annuitant eligible to participate |
|
|
under section 814.102, Government Code, is required to pay 15% of |
|
|
the total cost attributable to that individual and the dependents |
|
|
of that individual. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
