AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the term and renewal of interlocal contracts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 791.011, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (f) and adding Subsection (i) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(f) An interlocal contract may be renewed [annually]. |
|
|
(i) Notwithstanding Subsection (d), an interlocal contract |
|
|
may have a specified term of years. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the date on which the |
|
|
constitutional amendment proposed by the 82nd Legislature, Regular |
|
|
Session, 2011, to authorize the legislature to allow cities or |
|
|
counties to enter into interlocal contracts with other cities or |
|
|
counties without the imposition of a tax or the provision of a |
|
|
sinking fund is approved by the voters. If that amendment is not |
|
|
approved by the voters, this Act has no effect. |
