R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ruth L. Wyrick was awarded an honorary doctor of |
|
humane letters degree from Southwestern Christian College on May 7, |
|
2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, A member of the school's Class of 1955, Mrs. Wyrick |
|
has given generously of her time and talents to benefit |
|
Southwestern Christian College in the years since her graduation; |
|
in addition to her work as a member of its board of trustees, she is |
|
the school's chief fund-raiser in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, |
|
helping to bring in nearly $1 million through her efforts with the |
|
National Dinner Day and Little Mr. & Miss SwCC pageants; and |
|
WHEREAS, For her myriad achievements, this remarkable woman |
|
is the only individual ever to have been selected three times as her |
|
alma mater's Alumnus of the Year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ruth Wyrick has long been a dedicated ambassador for |
|
Southwestern Christian College, and the institution has enhanced |
|
the education of countless young people as a result of her |
|
dedication and drive; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ruth Wyrick on earning an honorary |
|
doctor of humane letters degree from Southwestern Christian College |
|
and commend her for her exemplary service; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Wyrick as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
