R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
death of Irene A. Hendrix of Waco on April 1, 2011, at the age of 92; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The former Irene Garrett was born in Patrick on July |
|
|
27, 1918, to Nay and Ethel Garrett; she enjoyed a rewarding marriage |
|
|
with her husband, Lewis O. Hendrix, that spanned 64 years until his |
|
|
passing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Garrett worked as a homemaker throughout her |
|
|
life; she was blessed with 2 daughters, Betty and Patsy, as well as |
|
|
7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and twin |
|
|
great-great-granddaughters; devoted to her faith, she was a member |
|
|
of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Irene Hendrix will be deeply missed, |
|
|
cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in |
|
|
the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Irene A. Hendrix and |
|
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
daughters and son-in-law, B. J. "Betty" Burleson and Patsy and Jim |
|
|
Stauffer; to her grandchildren, Kenny and Kevin Stauffer, Terise |
|
|
Rhodes and her husband, James, Robyn Hollas and her husband, Tyson, |
|
|
Chris Chasteen and his wife, Anne, Joe Burleson, Jr., and his wife, |
|
|
Felicia, and Ronnie Burleson and his wife, Carol; to her 17 |
|
|
great-grandchildren and her twin great-great-granddaughters; and |
|
|
to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Irene |
|
|
Hendrix. |
