AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the reporting of certain information to the director of |
|
|
the bureau of vital statistics. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 191.024(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) On the state registrar's demand, a person, including a |
|
|
local registrar, physician, midwife, or funeral director, who has |
|
|
information relating to a birth, death, or fetal death shall supply |
|
|
the information to the state registrar in person, by mail, or |
|
|
through the local registrar. The person shall supply the |
|
|
information on a form provided by the department or on the original |
|
|
certificate. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
