R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Ricardo A. Arzamendi of Brownsville, who died on June 18, 2011,
  at the age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Ricardo Arzamendi was born in Brownsville on October
  25, 1938, to Francisco B. and Cleotilde Arzamendi; he married the
  former Maria Ofelia Castro, and the couple were blessed with three
  daughters, Melissa, Melinda, and Regina, and shared nearly five
  decades together; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Arzamendi owned and operated several automotive
  businesses over the course of his life, and in his leisure time, he
  loved hunting and fishing; known for his fun-loving nature and
  sense of humor, he enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends,
  and he especially delighted in time spent with his seven
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A former altar boy at St. Thomas Catholic Church,
  Mr. Arzamendi later became a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic
  Church, and he attended the noon Mass every day at the Cathedral of
  the Immaculate Conception; and
         WHEREAS, Ricardo Arzamendi lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around his faith and his family, and he will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Ricardo A. Arzamendi and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
  his family: to his wife, Maria Ofelia Castro Arzamendi; to his
  daughters, Melissa Ann Avila and her husband, Albert, Melinda
  Cecilia Arzamendi, and Regina Marie Moreno and her husband, Jose;
  to his grandchildren, Matthew, Clarissa, Alexander, Sarah, Jacob,
  Bianca, and Jose; to his sisters, Mary Rose Cardenas and her
  husband, Renato, and Bertha Cantu and her husband, George; to his
  sister-in-law, Mary Ann Cleary Arzamendi; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ricardo
  A. Arzamendi.
