	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Patti Jurena Wiggs of Round Rock retired from Park
	Crest Middle School in Pflugerville on May 31, 2011, drawing to a
	close an outstanding career as an educator that spanned 29 years;
	and
	WHEREAS, During her notable tenure with the Pflugerville
	Independent School District, Ms. Wiggs distinguished herself as a
	language arts instructor and as the chair of the Language Arts
	Department; she received her master's degree in English education
	from Southwest Texas State University in 1985 and taught freshman
	composition for two years at the university; her experience also
	includes two years of teaching composition and developmental
	English at Laredo Community College; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Wiggs further contributes to her community
	through her involvement with the Round Rock Faith in Action
	Caregivers and the Texas Baptist Children's Home; she enjoys
	spending time with a fine family that includes a sister and
	brother-in-law, Carla and Larry Brownfield, a sister-in-law,
	Jeanie Wiggs, two nieces, Erin and Lauren Brownfield, a nephew,
	Matthew Brownfield, and two great-nieces, Flannery and Molly
	Brownfield; she is looking forward to traveling during retirement
	and will visit Uganda with a Libraries of Love mission trip in June
	2011; and
	WHEREAS, Deeply committed to education, Patti Wiggs has made
	a positive difference in the lives of many young Texans, and she may
	indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on
	an exciting new chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Patti Jurena
	Wiggs on her retirement from Park Crest Middle School in
	Pflugerville and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
	happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Ms. Wiggs as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
