Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Redistricting, Select was held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:07 a.m.  The clerk called roll.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Legislators who were present and represent the San Antonio area were recognized. 

 

Senator Van de Putte, Senator Zaffirini, Senator Wentworth, Senator Uresti and Representative Farias made opening remarks.

 

The chair made opening remarks.

 

The chair opened public testimony.  Witnesses who registered and testified are shown on the attached list.  After all witnesses were heard, public testimony was closed. 

 

The chair asked for a moment of silence for the late Edmund Kuempel.

 

There being no further business, at 12:02 p.m. Senator Seliger moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
