Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Redistricting, Select was held on Thursday, October 21, 2010, in the Edinburg, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.  The clerk called roll.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair and members of the Committee gave opening remarks.

 

The chair welcomed Senator Eddie Lucio. 

 

The chair welcomed Dr. Robert Nelson, President of the University of Texas Pan-American.  Dr. Nelson gave brief remarks.

 

The chair opened public testimony.  Witnesses who testified are shown on the attached list.  After all witnesses were heard, public testimony was closed.

 

 

 

There being no further business, at 10:34 a.m. Senator Seliger moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
