Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Nelson made opening remarks regarding interim charge #13.

 

Senator Nelson called panel one to provide invited testimony on the overview of mental health services for abused and neglected Texas children (see attached witness list).

 

Senator Nelson called panel two to provide invited testimony on recommended strategies to address the impact of the trauma and enhance therapeutic services (see attached witness list).

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the charge are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 12:16 p.m. Senator Uresti moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
