Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Nelson made opening remarks regarding interim charge #12.

 

Senator Nelson called panel one to provide invited testimony on the agencies' perspective (see attached witness list).

 

Senator Nelson called panel two to provide invited testimony on the providers' perspective (see attached witness list).

 

Senator Nelson called panel three to provide invited testimony on the advocates' perspective (see attached witness list).

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

Senator Deuell assumed the chair.

 

Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

Senator Deuell assumed the chair.

 

Senator Nelson resumed the chair. 

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Nelson called panel two to provide invited testimony on recommendations for moving forward (see attached witness list).

 

Senator Nelson called panel three to provide invited testimony on the health care professionals' perspective (see attached witness list).

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 7:32 p.m. Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
