Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.  The following was transacted: 

 

At the request of Senator Deuell, Susan Tanksley from the Department of State Health Services spoke about the newborn screening process in regards to HB 1672 which had already been passed out of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services at a previous hearing.

 

The chair laid out HB 1630 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Watson, to explain the bill.
