Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Thursday, February 5, 2009, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:39 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out SB 1 as pending business.

 

Testimony was given on the following funds and institutions of higher education.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

 

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

At 11:51 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 12:30 p.m.

 

Senator Ogden reconvened the Committee at 12:32 p.m.

Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 6:03 p.m. Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed until 8:30 a.m., February 6, 2009.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
