Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations was held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited witnesses to provide testimony on activities related to foreclosure data.  See attached witness list. 

 

At 8:45 a.m., a quorum was established.

 

Senator Nichols moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on February 18, 2009.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited consumer representatives to provide testimony. See attached witness list.

 

At 10:32 a.m., Senator West moved that the committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the Senate.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

At 1:00 p.m., the committee reconvened. 

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited mortgage brokers and financial association representatives to provide testimony.  See attached witness list.

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited financial institution representatives and lenders to provide testimony.  See attached witness list.

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited witnesses to provide testimony on activities related to the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Funds.  See attached witness list.

 

The Chair called the following three panels of invited witnesses to provide testimony on activities related to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.  See attached witness list.

 

The Chair called the following panel of invited witnesses to provide testimony on activities related to appraisal districts.  See attached witness list.

 

At 3:18 p.m., the Committee stood at ease temporarily.

 

At 3:20 p.m., the Committee reconvened and testimony resumed.

 

 

There being no further business, at 3:35 p.m. Senator West moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
