Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 22, 2009 and given permission to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Solomons, at 2:14 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

The chair laid out SB 1068.

 

Representative Gallego moved that SB 1068, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which SB 1492 was passed.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

The chair laid out SB 1492.

 

Representative Solomons offered an amendment to the measure.

 

The amendment was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Swinford moved that SB 1492, as amended, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
