Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 6, 2009 and suspension of the 5 day posting rule,  the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Solomons, at 9:40 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Solomons; Menendez; Cook; Craddick; Gallego; Harless; Jones; Lucio III; Maldonado; Swinford; Turner, Sylvester (11).

 

Absent:              Representatives Farabee; Geren; Hilderbran; Oliveira (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HJR 119

 

Representative Turner, Sylvester moved to reconsider the vote by which HJR 119 as substituted failed to report on May 6, 2009.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection. The Chair laid out HJR 119.

 

Representative Gallego offered a complete committee substitute. The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

(Representative Farabee now present.)

 

Representative Geren moved that HJR 119, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 921 as pending business.
