Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2009, the House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Corte, at 11:59 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Corte; Chavez; Farias; Maldonado; Turner, Chris (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Vaught; Edwards; Ortiz, Jr.; Pickett (4).

 

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB12.

 

Representative Corte offered and explained a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Maldonado moved that SB12, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Corte; Chavez; Farias; Maldonado; Turner, Chris (5).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Vaught; Edwards; Ortiz, Jr.; Pickett  (4).

 

 

 

At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
