Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule and all necessary rules to add HB 3484 and pursuant to permission to meet while the house is in session on May 8, 2009, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative Smith, Wayne at 11:09 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Berman; Davis, John; Marquez; Sheffield; Smith, Wayne (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Coleman; Morrison; Bolton; Castro (4).

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 3484.

 

The chair recognized Representative Davis, John to explain the measure.

Representative Berman offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Davis, John moved that HB 3484, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Berman; Davis, John; Marquez; Sheffield; Smith, Wayne (5).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

 

Absent:                          Representatives Coleman; Morrison; Bolton; Castro  (4).
