Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20, 2009, and permission to meet while the House is in session, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative McReynolds, at 4:46 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

Absent:              Representatives Kolkhorst; Marquez; Martinez, "Mando" (3).

The chair laid out SB 2340, the companion to HB 4216.

 

The chair recognized Representative Homer to explain the measure.

 

Representative Hodge moved that SB 2340, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives McReynolds; Madden; Dutton; England; Hodge; Miller, Sid; Ortiz, Jr.; Sheffield (8).

 

Nays:                             None (0).
