Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 19, 2009,  and being granted permission to meet while the house is in session during reading and referral of bills on March 19, 2009, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Deshotel, at 12:20 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Deshotel; Elkins; Christian; Giddings; Orr; Quintanilla; Turner, Sylvester (7).

 

Absent:              Representatives England; Gattis; Keffer; Miller, Sid (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 1382

 

The chair recalled HB 1382 from subcommittee.

 

Representative Orr offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Orr moved that HB 1382, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Deshotel; Elkins; Christian; England; Giddings; Quintanilla; Turner, Sylvester (7).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Gattis; Keffer; Miller, Sid; Orr  (4).

 

At 12:22 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
