R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. James A. Curry has benefited countless young |
|
|
Texans through his work with Baylor University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Tarkio College, Dr. Curry earned an |
|
|
M.A. and Ph.D. with honors from the University of Kansas; he chaired |
|
|
Baylor's political science department from 1990 to 2004, and |
|
|
currently serves as the Bob Bullock Professor of Public Policy and |
|
|
Administration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 2001, Dr. Curry has directed the Bob Bullock |
|
|
Scholars Program, which offers outstanding Baylor students an |
|
|
opportunity to work with the Texas Legislature; he also directs the |
|
|
university's Washington Internship Program, and his efforts with |
|
|
these initiatives have inspired a passion for public service in |
|
|
many participants; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. James Curry has demonstrated an unwavering |
|
|
commitment to teaching excellence and to the field of political |
|
|
science, and by combining a comprehensive academic curriculum with |
|
|
real world experience, he is helping to prepare future leaders for |
|
|
the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. James A. Curry for his service to |
|
|
Baylor University and the Bob Bullock Scholars Program and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Curry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
