AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the creation of a bail bond board by the commissioners |
|
|
court of certain counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1704.052, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1704.052. DISCRETIONARY CREATION OF BOARD. A board |
|
|
may be created in a county with a population of less than 110,000 |
|
|
if: |
|
|
(1) a majority of the persons who would serve as |
|
|
members of the board under Section 1704.053, or who would designate |
|
|
the persons who would serve as members of the board, determine to |
|
|
create a board; and |
|
|
(2) the commissioners court approves the creation of |
|
|
the board by a majority vote. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
