AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to normal weekly hours of work under the shared work |
|
|
unemployment compensation program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 215.001(3), Labor Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(3) "Normal weekly hours of work" means the number of |
|
|
hours in a week that an employee ordinarily works for a |
|
|
participating employer or an average of 40 hours per week over a |
|
|
two-week pay period, whichever is less. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
