AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

S.B. 2312 clarifies that all entities eligible for programs administered by the Texas Water Development Board are also eligible to apply for financial assistance through the Water Infrastructure Fund, including nonprofit water supply corporations. 

 

As proposed, S.B. 2312 redefines "eligible political subdivision" to include any interstate compact commission to which the state is a party and any nonprofit water supply corporation created and operating under Chapter 67 (Nonprofit Water Supply or Sewer Service Corporations) of the Water Code.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 15.971(1), Water Code, to redefine "eligible political subdivision."

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date:  September 1, 2009.
