Amend CSSB 488 as follows:                                                   
	(1)  On page 2, lines 1-4, strike "the operator is presumed 
to have failed to comply with Subsection (b)(2) if the distance 
between the operator's vehicle and the vulnerable road user" and 
substitute "when road conditions allow, 'safe distance' is at 
least".
	(2)  On pages 2 and 3, lines 31 and 32 and lines 1-5 
respectively, strike subsection (h) and renumber the subsequent 
sections appropriately.
	(3)  On page 3, lines 6 and 7, strike subsection (i) and 
renumber the subsequent sections appropriately.
	(4)  On page 3, lines 15-18, strike "The presumption provided 
by Subsection (c) does not arise and may not be applied against the 
operator of the motor vehicle" and substitute "It is a defense to 
prosecution under this section".
