Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.  There being no quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair welcomed members of the committee and made opening remarks.

 

The chair opened the floor to invited testimony for Charge #2.

 

Witnesses registering and testifying are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair opened the floor to public testimony for Charge #2.

 

Witnesses registering and testifying are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair opened the floor to invited testimony for Charge #8.

At 12:53 p.m. Senator Deuell assumed the chair.

 

At 1:00 p.m. Senator Janek assumed the chair.

 

At 1:05 p.m. Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

The chair opened the floor to public testimony for Charge #8.

At 3:15 p.m. Senator Deuell assumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 3:38 p.m. Senator Deuell moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
