Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Jurisprudence was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:12 a.m.  There was a quorum present. 

 

Senator Harris moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearings held on July 16, 2008, August 5, 2008, and September 17, 2008.  Senator Watson seconded the motion.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The members of the Committee discussed possible recommendations for the interim charges.  Recommendations for the interim charges were adopted.    

 

There being no further business, at 10:02 a.m. Senator Wentworth announced that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
