Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Bob Deuell, the acting chair, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out HB 2010 and recognized Senator Nelson, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Deuell moved that HB 2010 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The chair laid out HB 373 and recognized Senator Nelson, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.  The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

Senator Deuell moved that HB 373 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There was no action taken for the following bill(s): HB 142, HB 261, HB 618, HB 3290, and HB 3552.

 

There being no further business, at 10:15 a.m. Senator Deuell moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
