Pursuant to an ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE HOUSE FLOOR on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, (House Journal, Page 4330, Daily Edition), the Committee on Urban Affairs, of the Texas House of Representatives, met in a FORMAL MEETING, and was called to order by the Chairman, Representative Kevin Bailey, at 5:36 p.m.

 

 

ROLL CALL

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:                       Chairman Bailey;

                                    Vice-Chairman Murphy;

                                    Representative Cohen;

                                    Representative Latham;

                                    Representative Mallory Caraway (5).

 

Absent:                        Chairman for Budget & Oversight Menéndez;

                                    Representative Martinez Fischer (2).

 

A quorum was PRESENT.

 

 

SENATE BILL No. 125

 

The Chairman laid out SENATE BILL No. 125.

 

Representative Cohen offered a complete COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE.

 

Without objection, the COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE was ADOPTED.

 

Representative Cohen moved that SENATE BILL No. 125, as SUBSTITUTED, be reported FAVORABLY to the full House of Representatives with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion PREVAILED by the following Record Vote:

 

Ayes:                           Chairman Bailey;

                                    Vice-Chairman Murphy;

                                    Representative Cohen;

                                    Representative Latham;

                                    Representative Mallory Caraway (5).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

ADJOURNMENT

 

There being no further business to come before the Committee, at 5:38 p.m., on motion of the Chairman, and without objection, the FORMAL MEETING was declared concluded, and the Committee stood ADJOURNED, subject to the call of the Chair.
