Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 11, 2007, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Swinford, at 5:37 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Swinford; Van Arsdale; Christian; Flynn; Parker (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Paxton; Cook, Byron; Farrar; Veasey (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

SB 920

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Swinford offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Flynn moved that SB 920, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Swinford; Van Arsdale; Christian; Flynn; Parker (5).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Paxton; Cook, Byron; Farrar; Veasey (4).

 

SB 1133

 

The chair laid out SB 1133.

 

The bill was left pending without objection.

 

The chair directed that the April 25, 2007, minutes for the House Committee on State Affairs be corrected.  The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

At 5:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
