Pursuant to a notice posted on July 7, 2008, the House Select Committee on Property Tax Relief and Appraisal Reform met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Otto, at 1:07 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Otto; Darby; Elkins; Heflin (4).

 

Absent:              Representatives Paxton; Flores; Flynn; Gattis; King, Phil; King, Tracy O.; McClendon; Quintanilla; Taylor (9).

 

Rep. Mike Hamilton addressed the meeting, thanking the legislature for appropriating funds for hurricane recovery.

 

Representative Ritter and Representative Deshotel were also present at the meeting.

 

Rep. Taylor now present.

Rep. Paxton now present.

 

Public and invited testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)

 

At 5:50 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
