Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 7, 2007 following a request for permission to meet while the house was in session, the House Committee on Land & Resource Management, Subcommittee on Eminent Domain, met in a work session and was called to order by the chair, Representative Orr, at 10:35 a.m.

 

Present:           Representatives Orr; Cook, Robby (2).

 

Absent:            Representative Callegari (1).

 

A quorum was present.

 

The subcommittee discussed the question of what language and provisions would be appropriate in a proposed constitutional amendment to the Texas Constitution to address the decision reached by the United States Supreme Court in Kelo, et. al. v. City of New London, Connecticut.

At 11:25 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
