Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 23, 2007 and pursuant to the permission granted for the committee to meet while the house is in session pending receipt of Senate messages, the House Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hartnett, at 8:45 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Hartnett; Homer; Hopson; Alonzo; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Hughes; Krusee (8).

 

Absent:              Representative Goolsby (1).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HCR 225

 

The chair laid out HCR 225.

 

Representative Gonzales offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The chair recognized Representative Gonzales to explain the measure.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Krusee moved that HCR 225, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Hartnett; Homer; Hopson; Alonzo; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Hughes; Krusee (8).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representative Goolsby  (1).

 

At 8:49 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
