Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 15, 2007 and pursuant to the permission granted for the committee to meet while the house is in session during bill referral, the House Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hartnett, at 12:35 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Hartnett; Hopson; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Hughes (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Homer; Alonzo; Goolsby; Krusee (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

SB 272

 

The chair laid out and explained SB 272.

 

Representative Hughes moved that SB 272, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Hartnett; Hopson; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Hughes (5).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Homer; Alonzo; Goolsby; Krusee  (4).

 

At 12:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
