Pursuant to a notice posted on February 12, 2008, the House Committee on Energy Resources met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hardcastle, at 10:06 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

Present:              Representatives Hardcastle; Crownover; Corte; Crabb; Gonzalez Toureilles (5).

Absent:              Representatives Farabee; Chisum (2).

A quorum was present.

 

Rep. Charlie Howard addressed the committee regarding Charge #1.

 

Charge #5:     Research ways to maintain groundwater quality in relation to oil and gas exploration through economic incentives for innovative technology solutions.

 

Charge #3:     Discuss further the issue of financial assurance in relation to oil and gas wells, and evaluate the current bonding structure.
