Pursuant to an announcement from the House floor on April 19, 2007, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, Byron, at 11:14 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; Madden; Raymond; Talton (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives King, Phil; Martinez Fischer; Miller; Woolley (4).

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 3293.

Representative Cook, Byron offered a complete committee substitute.

 

Chairman Cook moved adoption of the committee substitute.  The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Raymond moved that HB 3293, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; Madden; Miller; Raymond; Talton (6).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives King, Phil; Martinez Fischer; Woolley  (3).

The chair laid out HB3578 as pending business.

 

Representative Cook, Byron offered a complete committee substitute.

Chairman Cook moved adoption of the committee substitute.  The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Madden moved that HB3578, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
