Pursuant to a notice posted on March 16, 2007, and permission granted to meet during the reading and referral of bills, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, Byron, at 6:43 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Miller; Raymond; Talton (6).

 

Absent:              Representatives Madden; Martinez Fischer; Woolley (3).

 

A quorum was present.

The chair recognized Representative Van Arsdale to explain the measure.
