Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2007, and a suspension of the House Rules for permission to meet while the House is in session, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Woolley, at 10:39 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Woolley; Chavez; Branch; Crownover; Elkins; Hamilton; Taylor; Turner; Van Arsdale (9).

 

Absent:              Representatives Dukes; Guillen (2).

 

A quorum was present.

 

Pursuant to House Rule 3, Section 5(2), and House Rule 6, Section 16(f), Representative Woolley moved to adopt the following proposed rule governing floor consideration of SB 3 (the omnibus water bill):

 

All original amendments that will be offered during second reading consideration of SB 3 must be filed with the chief clerk by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2007.     

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Woolley; Chavez; Branch; Crownover; Elkins; Hamilton; Taylor; Turner; Van Arsdale (9).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Dukes; Guillen  (2).

 

 

At 10:40 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
