Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17, 2007, the House Committee on Border & International Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Tracy, at 12:12 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives King, Tracy; Frost; Hardcastle; Merritt; Pickett (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Castro; Hernandez (2).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HR 1576

 

The chair laid out HR 1576 as pending business.

 

(Representative Castro now present.)

 

Representative Hardcastle moved that HR 1576, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives King, Tracy; Hardcastle; Merritt; Pickett (4).

 

Nays:                             Representative Frost (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:     Representative Castro  (1).

 

Absent:                          Representative Hernandez  (1).

 

At 12:15 p.m., on the motion of Representative Pickett and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
