Pursuant to a notice posted on March 7, 2007, and pursuant to permission granted to meet during the reading and referral of bills, the House Committee on Border & International Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Tracy, at 3:55 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives King, Tracy; Castro; Merritt; Pickett (4).

 

Absent:              Representatives Frost; Hardcastle; Hernandez (3).

 

A quorum was present.

 

The chair directed that the February 26, 2007, minutes for the House Committee on Border & International Affairs be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

The chair recognized Representative Gallego to explain the measure.
