Pursuant to a notice posted on August 29, 2008, the House Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education in a joint hearing with the House Select Committee on Higher and Public Education Finance met for a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kolkhorst, at 10:30 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Kolkhorst; Branch; Brown, Fred; McClendon (4).

 

Absent:              Representatives Crownover; Otto (2).

 

A quorum was present.

 

(Representatives Giddings, Hochberg, Donna Howard, Morrison,  now present.)

 

Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.)

 

At 1:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned until 2:00 p.m., September 3, 2008.
