  S.B. No. 1310
 
 
 
 
AN ACT
  relating to the reimbursement of travel expenses for state
  employees.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 660, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 660.019 to read as follows:
         Sec. 660.019.  DEADLINE FOR REIMBURSING EXPENSES.
  (a)  Except as provided by Subsection (b), not later than the 45th
  day after the date a state employee submits a request for
  reimbursement of travel expenses, a state agency shall reimburse
  the state employee for reimbursable travel expenses incurred by the
  state employee if the state employee submits the request for
  reimbursement in accordance with:
               (1)  the state agency's policies and procedures for
  travel expense reimbursement; and
               (2)  state travel rules.
         (b)  If there is a bona fide dispute between the state agency
  and the state employee relating to the travel expenses, the state
  agency shall reimburse the state employee for reimbursable travel
  expenses incurred by the state employee not later than the 30th day
  after the date the dispute is resolved.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
