AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the penalty for certain violations of county traffic |
|
|
regulations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsections (b) and (c), Section 251.161, |
|
|
Transportation Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) An [Except as provided by Subsections (c) and (d), an] |
|
|
offense under this section is punishable by a fine not to exceed |
|
|
$200 [$50]. |
|
|
(c) If conduct that constitutes an offense under this |
|
|
section also constitutes an offense under any other law, the actor |
|
|
may be prosecuted under this section or the other law [If it is
|
|
|
shown on the trial of an offense under this section that the person
|
|
|
has previously been convicted one time of the offense, the offense
|
|
|
is punishable by a fine not to exceed $200]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subsection (d), Section 251.161, Transportation |
|
|
Code, is repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
